During 2013/14 ASO will be arranging a series of meetings within the East of England Region on behalf of the Department of Health. Details of these events together with related information will appear below.

The next meeting of the East of England Obesity Network will be a half day (morning) meeting held on 13th January 2014 at UEA Sportspark in Norwich. The meeting will be looking at the importance of supporting mental health in obesity interventions. Topics include the importance of support in obesity treatment, an introduction to the Emotional Overeating Support Groups run by Beat, and the role of the psychologist in multi-disciplinary teams.

Note: Members of the East of England Obesity Network will be offered fast track membership of the ASO.
The first ASO East of England regional meeting was held on 19 September 2012 at MRC Human Nutrition Research, Cambridge. The theme of this half-day meeting was Evaluation of Obesity Interventions.
The second meeting was held on 6 December 2012 in Norwich. The theme was Care Pathways in Obesity.
The meeting Healthy Communities; Tackling Obesity in Local Areas took place on 7 March 2013 in London.
The East of England Obesity Network meeting Commissioning Obesity Interventions in the New Public Health Era was held on 26 November 2013 in Cambridge.
