Obesity in Scotland – Health Survey
This topic report, published in October 2011, presents an investigation into the most appropriate measure of adult obesity using Scottish Health Survey data. It also presents an investigation into the significant behavioural, socio-demographic and economic factors associated with adult obesity using data from the 2008, 2009, and 2010 surveys.
More than a quarter of adults in Scotland are obese, according to official figures contained in the report. Statistics from the Survey suggest 27% of people between the ages of 16 and 64 were obese in 2010.
