The World Obesity Federation and World Heart Federation have recently launched a collaboration on medical education across CVD and obesity, at the World Congress of Cardiology in Paris. As part of this project, a joint WHF-WOF SCOPE training programme focusing on CVD and obesity is under development and will be launched during WHF’s meeting at the American College of Cardiology conference in Chicago in March, allowing them to reach the wider network of cardiologists who are the target of this training. WOF will also be developing 6 new SCOPE modules focusing on obesity and CVD.
As part of this, an expert group is being developed comprising representatives of both disease groups, to oversee the development of the SCOPE modules and the planning of the SCOPE School. An ECPO representative joined the inaugural meeting in Paris, representing the patient voice.
