Emma Frew is an expert in the Economics of Obesity and holds a NIHR fellowship working with Birmingham City Council to inform the Birmingham obesity strategy.  Her interests are in using ‘system-wide analysis’ to model effect of population interventions that span both health and non-health sectors.  She has established links with regional groups all focused on obesity research and can represent ASO in this context – some are non-academic groups but who form part of the ‘system’ that is needed to tackle obesity.  She is a lead-supervisor on 3-PhD projects; co-investigator on 5 current RCTs; sits on funding panels for Irish HRB, and NIHR.
